Scott Miers will swim the English Channel to raise funds for Children's Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA).
Most people will never understand the training, preparation and effort required to swim the English Channel.
Even fewer people will ever understand the heartache and agony of a cancer diagnosis for a young child.
CCIA was established by parents of children with cancer in 1976. Twenty years later, it provided much needed support for the Miers Family. Today it is supporting families right across Australia.
Scott will swim the English Channel in August 2014. He will be accompanied by family members Elaine, Alicia, Emily and Peter. He will be supported by renowned Channel pilot Reg Brickell, coach Vlad Mravec and channel swimming mentor Michael Renford.
The Miers Family is supporting CCIA because they know first hand the huge value of local research and the genuine care provided to patients and their families.
Please provide a small donation which will help make a big difference.

Children's Cancer Institute
Every year more than 950 children and adolescents will be diagnosed with cancer in Australia. Every week nearly three Australian children will die of cancer.
Children’s Cancer Institute exists solely to put an end to childhood cancer through medical research. We don’t just hope to do it. We will do it.
It’s not if. It’s when.
